Alvarez is a premier acoustic guitar manufacturer that specializes in high quality instruments. Alvarez started
building high quality acoustic guitars in 1965. As evidenced by the sound of their instruments, they are very
passionate about what they do.
The Alvarez RD20SC is a dreadnought sized guitar with a rounded cutaway, featuring a solid select spruce top
matched to mahogany back and sides with contrasting black/white binding finished in a natural gloss. The fast

I have been playing guitar for over 30 years and have owned all types of guitars and gear. I was without a nylon
stringed guitar for a while and developed a nylon Jones. I began looking for a classical guitar, with a cutaway and
built in electronics.
As I said before, this guitar is like a wonderful woman. One that should be treated well and caressed. Playing
her should be like making love.
Which is the better guitar, Yairi or Alvarez?
Information on Sadao Yairi is scant and a number of Japanese Sadao Yairi collectors confirm that Sadao Yairi's
guitar making history is shrouded in mystery especially after a 1990s statement by Kazuo Yairi, of Alvarez Yairi
fame, that Kazuo and Sadao have no working relationship.
I've owned 2 Yairis and 2 Alvarez guitars all being really nice. One of the Alvarez guitars was a 9 string that
I regret trading. Come to think of it, I regret trading the Yairis also!
I've got a few Alvarez and Yairi's. I think the Yairi's are way better guitars. Nicer workmanship and sound.
